Windows 10: Cumulative Updates Failing - Windows Server 2022

Hi All,I am having a problem updating our Windows Server 2022 VM - HyperV; I am getting a mix of errors, either 0x80070005 or 0x8007000d. What I have done so far:ran DISM component store is repairable and SFC no errors -- getting error 0x800f081f when using restorehealthreset update components - no luck after doing thismanually installed KB5026370 and KB5027225 - no luckServer Details:Edition Windows Server 2022 Standard Version 21H2 Installed on ‎13/‎12/‎2022 OS build 20348.1668 Notes: April 11, 2023—KB5025230 OS Build 20348.1668May 9, 2023—KB5026370 OS Build 20348.1726June 13, 2023

Failed Windows update for Server 2022 Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80073701

This is a Windows 2022 server and have not been able to apply the cumulative update since November of 2022. Other updates like the ,Net and defender updates install without any issues, just the cumulative update fails. Failed Windows update for Server 2022 - Tried all the posted related for this error message but nothing seems to work - Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80073701: 2023-02 Cumulative Update for Microsoft server operating system version 21H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5022842)

I found several post and tried everything listed in the posts, still no luck. Need help.

Windows 10 Cumulative update for February 2022

After many failed cumulative updates on my Dell laptop, I recently reset Windows 10 from the cloud. Cumulative update 4-2022 installed successfully the next day. Now Update says that cumulative update 2-2022 needs to be installed. Why would an older update need to be installed over a more recent one?

 

2022-09 Cumulative update for Windows 11 KB5017859 fails to install with error 0x80248007

Around 24 hours after I first experienced this problem, Windows Update decided by itself to remove the Cumulative update KB5017859 and install another update, the 2022-09 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 22H2 for x64 (KB5017026).

This update installed fine, but I can't find the error 0x80248007 about the failed installation of the 2022-09 Cumulative update for Windows 11 KB5017859.

Now my system seems to be up-to-date with no pending or failed updates.

Nevertheless, I run the troubleshooter for Windows Update. This was the report:





I guess I don't have a problem anymore, since in the Windows Update -> Update History, there isn't any update flagged as "failed".
