Windows 10: Cumulative Updates

The last Cumulative update that was successful on my Laptop was 2018 09 1803 64 based KB4462919 (19/10/2018). I haven't been able to receive any more (currently 2019 01 KB4480966) since then although I have received other updates. 1/ Are these cumulative updates important? I have tried Troubleshooting and various other attempts online to my capabilities but to no avail. I have been told that there has been problems with Microsoft updates by the 'Techies" in town and some of them were deleting files. I am very basic in my knowledge and I do the basic stuff that needs to be done within my capabilities but does anyone know if 2/ I should just wait for Microsoft to fix the problem and try future Cumulative updates?

June 2016 Cumulative Update impacted my Desktop

I suggest you to uninstall the Cumulative update and check if it helps.

Follow the steps below.

• 
  Go to control panel, then click on
  Programs and Features.
  
• 
  Tap on View installed updates, then find the update.
  
• 
  Right click on the update and uninstall the update.
  

And also you can temporarily disable the
Cumulative update.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Cumulative December update

I tried to download and install the December Cumulative Update from the website you had listed and did not have any luck. I received error messages stating that it would not install and it still has not come through windows update. Do you have any other
suggestions?
