Windows 10: Cumulative updates

Recently I manually checked for updates, within a few seconds Windows 10 had found something and installed it faster than I could see what it was. I waited for a few minutes to be prompted to restart which never came. Upon looking into it, I saw that it was a cumulative update. It was my understanding that these updates required a restart, yet it said successfully installed and I was never prompted for one. Is this normal for some cumulative updates? Should I uninstall them and wait for them to be pushed on the next patch tuesday?

  Tap on View installed updates, then find the update.

  Right click on the update and uninstall the update.
  

And also you can temporarily disable the
Cumulative update.

Cumulative December update

I tried to download and install the December Cumulative Update from the website you had listed and did not have any luck. I received error messages stating that it would not install and it still has not come through windows update. Do you have any other
suggestions?

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
