    Current Win10 installation ISO?

    Hi Guys,

Currently running 1511 on three machines, but due to a bit too much tinkering I'm looking at doing clean installs - not a huge drama as I don't have a large number of programs to reinstall.

I'm wondering if I download a new Win10 installation ISO (via direct d/l or via the media creation tool) whether it will incorporate all the latest updates/patches?

Is it worth waiting for the Redstone 1 update (assuming it's due out soon)?

    Cheers,

    Mike.

    :)

  3. Has anyone solved the Win10 Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538243) - Error 0x80070643

What Win10 build is currently installed?

Did you format the HDD before you did the clean install of Win10?

What product key did you use to activate the clean install of Win10?

No. That is Windows Update's job.
What the download link gives you is the most current iso file.

Once you have the Clean Install completed and activated, Windows Update will kick in and install the most current updates for you.

There are 2 Official Windows 10 iso download sites :

    1. Media Creation Tool ( MCT )
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/soft...load/windows10

    2. Tech Bench
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/soft...load/techbench

    My preference is Tech Bench.

The last update they did to the ISO files was in early February. Really, though, if you downloaded build 10586 in November 2015 or after, I wouldn't bother downloading anything new until Redstone comes out.

The first cumulative update from Windows Update will make it current.

  7. As of right now Windows 10 is still free and as long as you have a legitimate key from maybe Windows 7 or Windows 8 to 8.1 you wont need an activation key due to it using the old key you had. A clean install will put you back to the ISO version of the OS but Windows Update will update it back to the most currently updated and stable version of Windows. If you have any files you wish to keep make sure you back them up on something obviously.

The OP already has Windows 10 on these computers. Therefore, if they were upgrades from Windows 7/8/8.1, the first upgrade saved a digital entitlement for Windows 10 on Microsoft activation servers and future clean installs of Windows 10 on those same computers will activate by retrieving that digital entitlement from Microsoft - no product key required.

  10. It is as a free upgrade from any existing Windows 7 and up OS, if you don't have one of those OS's then you will have to buy a copy.
