Windows 10: cursor acting strange, constantly typing 777777777777777777777777777777777777

Weird thing happening with my laptop. Wherever there is an input field like a log in box or a search box it just suddenly starts typing 7777777777777777777777777777777777777 for like 30 seconds nonstop, on it's own. The only way to interrupt it is to hit esc or delete key. Then it will stop for a moment before it starts doing it again. Also, the cursor will freeze while it's doing this before you can move it again after you interrupt it. I've seen other people have the same problem. This has only just started to happen in the last week. I'm wondering if it was the last update for Windows 10 th

I'm wondering if it was the last update for Windows 10 that has caused this as that is the only thing that has been installed and it wasn't doing it before that. The one giving us a message about the support will end soon. There's no malware or virus, I've checked. Scanned. No trojan or anything in the registry. The laptop is a HP Pavillion 15. Oh, and yes I've checked the keys. Took them off, no dirt or debris making them stick. However on the number pad the 7 doesn't type, yet all the others do. This is very bizarre and I need to find a fix as it's driving me mad.

I suggest you to run the System Maintenance troubleshooter by following the steps below:

• Type Troubleshooting in the search box and press Enter.
• Click on View All in the top left pane.
• From the list click on System Maintenance and follow the on screen prompts.
