cursor dropping to bottom of file explorer

I am constantly frustrated by a cursor that is near the top of the screen when I open File Explorer, then as I begin to navigate the cursor will drop all the way to the bottom of my files. It doesn't seem like this would be a problem to fix but it has been ongoing for several years. I am getting auto updates BTW.I use a HP Laptop and a Acer Laptop, both on win10.

    :)

Cursor still dropping to bottom of file list when browsing in file explorer

I have fought this battle for aa long time & I'm still frustrated when I drill down to a location needed only to find the cursor has decided I should really be looking at the last folder in my list. It happens within 10 seconds of my opening or entering
    a File Explorer window.

    Every time.

BTW, My desktop settings are set to remain stationary so they do not change as was suggested as a possible source of the problem.

I guess I should accept that the solutions suggested here don't work and either accept the fault or find an aftermarket product.

    Thanks,

    LarryT
