    Cursor loses control when moving desktop icons


    Version 1903 (OS Build 18363.535

    When trying to re-arrange desktop icons the cursor often is not able to move them. This happened some time ago, but I have no recollection of the remedy.

    What must I do ?

    Desktop Icon Keeps On Moving

    That's because your resolution is changing each time. To test, try setting to 1024x768, arrange a couple of icons and then restart the PC. As long as the resolution after startup is still 1024x768, then the icons won't move. Trust me. *Wink Cursor loses control when moving desktop icons ;)

    Freely moving desktop icons in windows 10

    Hi,

    I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

    • Right click on the blank space on desktop.
    • Click on View.
    • Uncheck Align icons to grid.

    Cursor loses control when moving desktop icons

    Remove Linux Desktop Icons

    I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.
