Windows 10: Custom cursors reset after reboot

Discus and support Custom cursors reset after reboot in Windows 10 Customization to solve the problem; I applied the old Windows Vista/7 cursors and everytime I reboot it uses the Windows 10 sets even though it's still shows Windows Aero is applied.     Custom cursors reset after reboot


    I applied the old Windows Vista/7 cursors and everytime I reboot it uses the Windows 10 sets even though it's still shows Windows Aero is applied. Why? Is there a cache or something I need to deal with?

    I want to change to a custom cursor theme. I've found what I want and downloaded it. Now, how do I install it in Windows 10?

    How do you install custom cursors in Windows 10?

    This isn't the answer for this particular question. We know how to download cursors.

    We need to know where to drop the .cur files in order to make them usable. I've done this on older versions of windows, but it's been ages and I'm not sure the way I did it even exists on Windows 10.

    Probably because of Theme applied, Save the theme with those cursors applied and use it as default.

    I had already done that I believe. Regardless I deleted and moved the actual files to the Windows/Cursors folder re-added and saved as a different name. Hopefully this will help.

    It's because I didn't have them in Windows/Cursors but rather my Downloads folder. Thanks.
