Windows 10: Custom display resolution with NVIDIA T400 graphics card on Windows 11

I have a new Lenovo P3 ThinkStation desktop workstation running Windows 11 with an NVIDIA T400 graphics card. In Windows 11, when I go to Settings > System > Display, Windows gives me the following twelve options for display resolution in the square [] I have listed the corresponding aspect ratio: 1600 x 900 [16:9 = 1.77778:1] 1440 x 900 [8:5 = 1.60000:1] 1366 x 768 [683:384 = 1.77865:1] 1360 x 768 [85:48 = 1.77083:1] 1280 x 1024 [5:4 = 1.25000:1] 1280 x 960 [4:3 = 1.33333:1] 1280 x 800 [8:5 = 1.60000:1] 1280 x 768 [5:3 = 1.66667:1] 1280 x 720 [16:9 = 1.77778:1] 1152 x 864 [4:3 = 1.3

How to force Windows 11 to display specific resolution for any kind of screens

The resolutions you will have access to in the list are provided by the graphics card drivers, not Windows.

The graphics card drivers senses the model of monitor, native resolution for the monitor and then displays a compatible list, if the resolution you need is not in the list, in the graphics card control panel, you should have the option to apply a custom resolution that is not in the list.

 

Display resolution keeps changing

Hi Rick,

It might be caused by a faulty driver that's why your display resolution keeps changing. We
suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the display driver, see steps below:

• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device Manager.
• For graphics cards, expand the Display adapters category, right click your graphics card and select Uninstall.
• Restart your PC and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

Windows 10 Upgrade Not Recognizing new Graphics Card

I appreciate if you could answer few questions to narrow down the issue and to provide you better assistance.

• Did you removed the NVidia graphics card before installing Radeon graphics card?
• Is Radeon HD graphics card externally installed or internally installed?

I suggest you to uninstall the Display adaptors (NVidia) drivers and check if it helps. Kindly follow the steps to uninstall Display drivers.

• Press Windows key + X and select
  Device Manager.
• Search for NVidia Display Adapters and expand it.
• Right click on the display driver
  and select Uninstall.
