Discus and support Custom task using Bluetooth device connected as trigger doesn't work. in Windows 10 Software and Apps to solve the problem; I use a Bluetooth device paired with software specifically for it.     Custom task using Bluetooth device connected as trigger doesn't work.


    I use a Bluetooth device paired with software specifically for it. I have already created a custom task to run the software and bypass the UAC prompt by having it run at the highest privileges. and created a shortcut for it. I now want to automate the software starting when I connect the device. I have used Event Viewer to find the Log Name, Source, and Event ID, which I then entered in the trigger. It will not work, however.

    Trigger Task Scheduler by connection and disconnection of a wireless headphone

    Hi Paul,



    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



    We understand that you want to trigger a task in Task Scheduler when you connect headphone to your PC.



    We would suggest you to try the steps mentioned below and see if that helps:



    1. Connect the headphone to the computer. Now, press
      Windows key + X, and select Device Manager.
    2. Expand Bluetooth, right click on the
      headphone and select Properties.
    3. Click on Events tab, you will find 2 events.
    4. Click on the Device started event and click on
      View All Events.
    5. An Event Manager window will open, click on
      Attach Task To This Event on the lower right hand side.
    6. This should provide you the options to create a new task. Select the Actions for the program to be run based on the trigger.


    Let us know how it goes.

    I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

    I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

    Trigger a task when a bluetooth device is connected

    You can do this:

    1. Launch the Event Viewer (eventvwr.exe)
    2. Connect/disconnect your Bluetooth device a few times
    3. Check what event is recorded each time by the Event Viewer
