Windows 10: Custom theme is not changing minimize/close buttons

Monitor: 2k, I think the main cause of the issue

Been testing custom themes recently, have given my windows an incredibly cool look. The only problem I've faced is the inability of a theme to change minimize/close buttons on windows. I've tried literally everything, but nothing has worked for me.

There is one post on this issue on reddit, but its solution does not work for me at all (the author of the post has an older windows version). I tried doing everything with the resolution but nothing has worked.

Any idea on what can help in this situation? I have a thought that maybe I can change the resolution of a screen on a deeper system level, so that windows would actually think that I'm using a fullHD monitor, I think that a simple tweak in the settings might not work in the newer version of windows.

How do I change Minimize, Maximize, and Close colors in Windows 10


Hi

I had this problem too so I decide to make my own visual style ( using vista style builder - paid licence but worth it )

so I changed buttons colors like the minimize one for example in screenshot :

otherwise the easiest way is to find a theme which have already modified buttons color .

• Did you try the steps suggested by Suvarna Govinda above, what was the result?

As I understand the issue, Themes in Windows doesn't have the options to change on its own. Only the Wallpapers in the themes can change as selected ( Picture, Solid color and Slide Show ).

I would suggest you to make us understand that if the Wallpapers are changing in Theme which you have selected.

Below are the steps you can check if it helps.

• Press Windows + I keys and select Personalization.
• Select Theme and select the Default theme.
• Select the Desktop Background below and select the Picture
  and save it and check.

Programs closing when clicking on Minimize

When I click minimize no error appears it just closes like when I press the X button.

I did research and nothing came up about it so no I have not done any troubleshooting steps.
