Windows 10: Customize the news in the taskbar?

How much can you customize the news in the taskbar? When you click on or hover over the weather summary in the taskbar, a news box pops up. These are news sources that Microsoft his picked. Can I choose my own news sources? I’m seeing news about Trump on an almost daily basis among the Microsoft choices, which is odd, since he’s been out of office for two years, but I don’t see news about actual, relevant current events such as ongoing corruption in Washington, etc. So I’d like to just choose my own sources, websites, etc. If this is not possible, I’d like to just remove the “news” from the

Moving the taskbar

You can customize your taskbar to pin your favorite apps to it, move it to where you want to display on your screen, and specify how taskbar buttons group together when you have more than one window open. To address your question, we suggest
that you follow these steps on how to move your taskbar to a different location on the screen:

• Open Settings and choose Personalization.
• Select Taskbar.
• Under Taskbar location on the screen, click the drop-down menu and select
  Bottom.

I would suggest you to change the desktop themes and check if you are able to see the transparent taskbar.

If that doesn't help I would suggest you to end the explorer.exe and restart it and see if you are able to see the transparent taskbar.

Please follow the steps below to restart explorer.exe:

stop and start Explorer.exe

    Right click on the taskbar and select task manager.

    In the process Right click on windows explorer and end the task
    
  • 
    Restart the task by clicking on the file and select new task
    
  • 
    Type Explorer.exe and press enter.
