Windows 10: D and E drives not visible on PC after driver update

Hi, My file explorer was creating some problems while using it, so I updated the drivers and after restarting the PC, D and E drives were not visible, when I restarted it again, all three drives C, D, E were visible, but E drive has become RAW. while trying to access E drive, it showed the following message "Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges or the disk may be locked by another process. You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode and make sure the disk is unlocked."So, I tried the CHKDSK cmd for E drive, it did not work, but after running the command prompt

Hard disk Drive D and E not visible.

I was out of station for a few days and now after I came back and booted my pc it was taking too long and after boot up there was only C drive visible in My explorer my D &E drives were not there. When I go into disk management the only drive that shows up is the C drive and 2 others that are called disk 0 partition 1 and disk 0 partition 2. I restarted and booted up again but still nothing changes. Is there any way to get it back without loosing data. Pls help

Please reply to a few questions asked below to understand the issue better:

Did you try running Hardware and Devices troubleshooter as suggested in one of the above posts?

Is the drive visible under Device manager on the computer?



If haven’t tried, run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter and check if any hardware components are missing or corrupted on the computer.



If the issue persists, update system hard drive from
Device manager by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

• 
  Press Windows logo + X keys on the keyboard and select
  Device Manager from the context menu.
  
• 
  Expand Disk drives option right click on the hard drive and select
  Update this software from the context menu.
  
• 
  Follow the on-screen instructions and wait for the update to complete.
  
• 
  After the update is complete, close the window and check if the changes are effective.

Unallocated drives are those whose names are not allocated when partitioned or installed. You will be able to view the drive in
File explorer only if a drive letter or name is allocated. You will not be able to view the drive in
File explorer if a drive name or letter is not allocated.



Since the drive is not visible in the File explorer window, assign a drive letter/name (if not assigned) manually from
Disk management by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

• Press Windows logo + X keys on the keyboard and select
  Disk management option from the context menu. Check if the drive is visible in the window.
• If visible, right click on the Unallocated disk drive and select
  New Simple Volume option. Follow the onscreen instructions where in the process a window to assign a drive letter is available. Assign a drive letter.
• After allocating a drive letter, right click on the drive and select
  Open. Check if you are able to open the drive in File Explorer.
• Close the Disk management window, open File Explorer (Windows logo + E keys on the keyboard) and check if the changes are effective.

If the issue persists, run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by following the steps below and check if any of the hardware components is missing or corrupted.

• Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type troubleshooter and select the top most search result.
• Click on View all from left side panel of the screen.
• Select Hardware and Devices, click on Advanced
  option and check Apply repairs automatically option.
• Follow the on screen instructions and wait for the troubleshooting to complete.
• After troubleshooting is completed, check the status of the troubleshooter shown on the window.
