Windows 10: D drive info missing

a thumb drive I have been using is now not working and my computer now says i have to reformat it and that by doing so I will lose all data I have on the drive. Any idea how I can save my info?

OK, I have asked the question. Perhaps a few days to wait for an answer. I filled in all the info to the best of my ability.

What would an update of Windows do relative to the missing D: drive problem?
