  1. D-Link DWA-582 AC1200 Wifi PCIE Win10 - Cannot connect to 5GHz Wifi

    Hello everyone,

Yesterday I recieved this network adapter from an online purchase. I unistalled the drivers from my old network adapter, which was working just fine I just wanted to upgrade the adapter for something to connect to the 5GHz Wifi of my home. Later I restarted the computer, to make sure it didn't have any drivers left. I turned off, plugged in the adapter to the motherboard, turned on the PC and installed the drivers from D-Link.

Both Wifi networks would pop up (2.4 GHz and 5GHz) but I couldn't connect to either of them, it would only say "Cannot connect to this network". After a long research on Google, I found this post https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/6880ey/dlink_dwa_582_ac1200_wifi_pcie_with_windows_10/ that saved my life! Now I can connect to the 2.4GHz without any trouble, but I still cannot connect to the 5GHz. It does pop up, although the only message I get is "Cannot connect to this network". I tried looking for newer drivers from Realtek, older drivers, but nothing works.

I have restarted my router multiple times, but it still cannot connect to the wifi signal. My phone does connect as well as other devices from my house, but still my PC would not connect to the 5GHz.

Has anybody encounter this problem before? Were you able to solve it? How?

    Thank you in advance!

WIFI - Limited connection after 10 seconds

    Hi guys,

Since I changed my Network adapter, I'm having connectivity trouble.

Each time I start my PC, I have internet working fine for about 10 seconds, after that it fells into "limited connection". If I switch off Wifi and start it again, the same issue occurs.

    My system :
    OS : Windows 10 PRO v1809
    Network adapter : D-Link DWA 582 AC1200
Previous network adapter : Asus USB n10

If I plug my previous network adapter (USB port), it is still working fine. Other machines on the network are not having this problem.

I already tried all the the steps from here :
How To Fix WiFi Limited Access Problem In Windows 10

None helped. I thought it was hardware defect, so it has been replaced, it still persists.

Would anyone be able to help me on this ?

    Thanks a lot in advance

Windows 10 Anniversary Update makes computer unstable when D-Link DWA-582 wifi card

    Hi,

My desktop PC has an Asus Z87 Pro motherboard with built in wireless N which I had disabled in the Device Manager in order to use a D-Link DWA-582 wireless AC 1200 card instead. This setup was working fine until I ran the Windows 10 Anniversary Update to
go to version 1607 (from version 1511). (The update ran OK until it got to 99%, then it froze for some 15 hours after which I rebooted the computer. The update then seemed to pick up where it left off and complete.)

When the computer came back up after the update I noticed it had enabled both wireless cards (the motherboard's wireless N and the D-Link DWA-582). Only the wireless N had connected to the router however, and the computer could not see any networks over
the D-Link card. I disabled the onboard wireless N in the Device Manager as before, but then could not see any wireless networks. The status light on the back of the D-Link card was off.

I restarted the computer and everything became unstable. It would not connect to the network, but any attempt to enable or disable the D-Link card made all kinds of things on the computer start to freeze - I couldn't reliably open any programs since everything
seemed to be jammed up and going very slowly. If I tried to disable the D-Link card the Device Manager froze. I tried disabling the wireless N in the BIOS but then could see no wifi cards at all in the Device Manager (not the D-Link either). I re-enabled the
wireless N in the BIOS and tried scanning for updated drivers for the D-Link but it didn't find anything. I tried installing the latest drivers from D-Link's site, but the installer seemed unable to find the card. I tried uninstalling the D-Link device altogether
in the Device Manager and then restarting and scanning for it. The uninstall seemed to hang, and the card would randomly appear or disappear in the Device Manager after each reboot.

This was all difficult to do because all applications seemed to be freezing up or going very slowly.

After a few restarts I did manage to disable the wireless N and enable the D-Link card in the Device Manager, the activity light on the D-Link started working normally, and I had an internet connection. But after a couple of minutes the card stopped working,
the status light started blinking regularly on and off about once a second, and the computer became unstable again. I couldn't get it back to a stable working state.

In the end the only way I could make the computer stable again was to pull the D-Link card out and just use the built in wireless N. I put the D-Link card into another computer running Fedora 24 where it worked fine immediately.

Is there a known issue with the D-Link DWA-582 and Windows 10 version 1607? Why might the new version be having trouble with the card when version 1511 was fine with it?
