    Damn Windows 10 issue - Spotify won't launch


    This keeps happening, and I haven't seen any posts on this sub. I used to have the program from the Spotify website installed on my Win 10 Pro PC (2 TB HDD, 12 GB RAM, i3 chip) and after a time, stopped launching. Clicking the .exe did nothing, nor did running as admin. Someone suggested using the Windows Store app instead, and that did work for a good stretch. No longer, back to the same dead link on taskbar, Start, and even in File Explorer directly clicking on the .exe. Uninstalling and reinstalling works ... for a time. Now the dead link is back. I've seen others posting on the web elsewhere, but few suggestions work for the long term. Anyone got any ideas or info on this issue?

    Get Windows 10 App won´t launch

    Hello all,

    I hope someone can help me. Finally after a lot of manual updates, my Get Windows 10 app is showing in the taskbar.

    However, now when I left click it, right click Get Windows 10, right click Check your Update status, the app launches and immediately closes down again.

    The options Go to Windows Update and Get to know Windows 10 do work.

    Just the app won´t launch. Anyone ideas?

    Windows 7 Home Premium

    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz

    8.00 GB RAM

    64-bit operating system

    Cortana and launching programs

    Hi there!

    Try to double check if your Spotify App is installed properly. Try to do these steps to find out:

    • Press Windows Key + R button on your keyboard
    • On the text field in the run command type appwiz.cpl
    • You should be able to see Spotify on the list

    If your Spotify is not listed there, it can only mean that your Spotify Software has been placed on your PC by copying the whole client from a External Storage.

    If your Spotify is listed on the appwiz.cpl . Try to restart your PC and check if Cortana can now launch the app instead of searching the Web.
