Windows 10: Dark screen curtain follows when the pointer is scrolled above

When I scroll the mouse pointer or touchpad from bottom - a dark screen curtain follows the pointer. It is horizontal and covers all surface below the pointer. Updating device managers or re-start is not helpful. Device is a Samsung Galaxy Book Flex NP930QCG

curtains/W10: dark mode not available in all apps/windows

hi,

some months ago i installed curtains on my new Win10 home (clean instal, now Pro) installation.

The problem is:

Unfortunately Im not able to apply dark mode (dark bakground) to all applications/windows.

Both windows on the left side ("CPUid HWmonitor" and below "control panel") dont
show dark background i've set in curtains. On the other side the window "settings" is black.

Curtains has nothing to do with it, the same thing happens with Windows own light/dark theme settings. The 'light' or 'dark' setting in Personalisation > Colours > 'Choose your default app mode' is ignored by your two examples.

Not all apps support the use of a system-wide dark theme setting. The apps have to contain the code to support a dark mode, for example File Explorer didn't get a dark mode until build 17666.

In the case of Control Panel it does not appear to have any support for a 'dark mode'. For your CPUID HWMonitor it has it's own internal choice of a light or dark theme and ignores the system-wide app mode setting.

 

Issues with the On screen keyboard and mouse pointer.

The issues with the mouse may arise due to driver conflicts and the issue related to the On Screen keyboard may be when the settings for the OSK are turned on.

For the On screen keyboard issue, I suggest you to follow the below steps.

  Type Ease of Access on the search bar.
  
• 
  Choose Ease of Access and click on
  Use the Computer without a mouse or keyboard option.
  
• 
  Check if the Type using a pointing device is turned on.
  
• 
  You may uncheck that option if it is turned on.
  

Also try the below steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + R and type
  Services.msc.
  
• 
  Scroll down to find the "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service".
  
• 
  Disable the option by right clicking on it.
  

For the Mouse issue:

I suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

2. Select Troubleshooting.

3. Select View all on the top left corner.

4. Click on Hardware
and Devices.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

6. Check if issue persists.
