    Dark videos when reproducing MKV files


    Hi. ASUS Vivobook PRO, IntelR CoreTM i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz, IntelR HD Graphics 630. Windows 11 Home, Version 22H2 Build 22621.2428. Drivers up-to-date. When I try to watch MKV videos on VLC, they look much darker than they should be. Not an application issue because I tried with a comparable program and it's the same. Everithing ok when I watch videos online.Please help me, I'm desperate.

    Problem with mkv Files

    Hi,

    Experiencing issues in playing mkv files after an update may have something to do with the video card driver. If you have another mkv player app or program, we suggest that you try playing those files using another app or program to help us sort out this
    issue.

    If in case the issue persists, we suggest running video troubleshooter. Just click
    Find and fix problems playing movies, television, or video on this
    link.

    You may also try rolling back the video card driver. Follow these steps:

    • Right-click the Windows key and select Device Manager.
    • Locate and right-click your display adapter, then select Properties.
    • Select the Driver tab and click the Roll Back Driver option.

    CANT GET AUDIO WITH A MKV VIDEO

    Is it just one MKV video or all MKV videos?

    Usually this is not a Windows Problem, the problem is that there is so many MKV encoders out there and there is no consistency with the way MKV files are being encoded . . .

    I have seen this with certain MKV videos, that were downloaded from the Web. The problem is that sometimes the MKV file contains 5.1 Dolby sound and this is not supported on many devices and applications for playback.

    There is a very good tool MKVToolnix downloadable from
    HERE    , which will allow you to look inside the MKV file to see if this is the case. The tool will allow you to extract the audio stream, re-encode it and put it back into the MKV file. Then hopefully the MKV file will play as normal.

    i have the same problem. even I haven't found any app in store that can play mkv video files.

    is there any app which can play mkv video files??????
