Windows 10: DAT file in C:\intel\gp\profile_username

Discus and support DAT file in C:\intel\gp\profile_username in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; Avast said it detected a tracker on the pc, but I'm not sure if it cleared it or if thats a premium feature.     Avast said it detected a tracker on the pc, but I'm not sure if it cleared it or if thats a premium feature. I decided ran a scan anyway, and CCleaner, and then started looking through my files. I found a DAT file created minutes ago: C:\Intel\gp\profile_username DAT file, 14KB It shows as opening with 7zip gui. Noted another question posted in 2021 with the same issue, the answer was "send the file in for checking" but no conclusion as to whether it should be removed?

    Associate .dat files to NotePad

    Hi Rick

    Right click a dat file, choose 'Open With' - Choose Another App

    Important - Check the box marked 'Always use this app to open dat . . .'

    If Notepad is not in the list, scroll to the bottom and click 'More Apps'

    Again if Notepad is not in the list, at the bottom, click 'Look for another app on this PC', then navigate to find the Notepad application in C:\Windows\System32

    need some help opening a .dat file.....

    I don't know if will help, but I noticed in a thread someone (@chefsuccess.com) mentioned, that, you need to use the restore to import the file.

    I don't use the software, so, I have no idea on the steps/procedure.

    In your post #16 the 2nd pic is showing an "Unsupported Audio" message.
    That suggests to me that your .dat files may be video files.
    The zip file you uploaded further suggests they are segments from a video file.
    SM player plays the files with a message they were " Created with Nero"
