Windows 10: DATA D: drive has a question mark

ok so just like the title says my data d drive has a blue question mark next to it and it won't open. whenever i right click it, i cant check properties or anything and im really scared to lose this drive because i have almost everything on iti've tried chkdsk d: /r /scan on command prompt, but it just tells me i can't open volume for direct access. same thing with chkdsk d: /scanhelp would be appreciatedi have the exact same problem as the person in thread https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/internal-d-drive-has-a-blue-question-mark/ed952011-3404-4070-9af1-3aa1c68d08cf&nbs

D Drive- Blue question mark

Hi, I attempted to open/save to my thumb drive. However, my D Drive suddnly does not show; rather there is a blue question mark appears next to D:\\. Does with all thumb drives I attempt to open. Can you please advise? Thank you.

Internal D drive has a blue question mark.

how to fix blue question mark on internal D drive. I tried running chkdsk /d in command prompt but it says invalid input. I also tried finding the drive in device manager and it shows the drive but it is grayed out. sometimes it is not grayed out and when that happens, the blue question mark goes away but the computer gives me an error when I try to open the drive, then the blue question mark comes back and device manager show it grayed out again.
