  1. Data loss after CUT and PASTE via USB from Android to Windows

Hello, Apparently, after the automatic screen lock on Windows, the data transfer via USB from Android to Windows was interrupted - the CUT and PASTE was not completed. The untransmitted data on Android was nevertheless deleted. This is apparently a similar case as here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/files-lost-after-cut-and-paste-with-usb-android/d95ca08b-427e-492f-84a6-84036fc714af Is it please possible to restore the data on Android back to its original state and perform CUT and PASTE correctly without losing it? Can Microsoft and Google please fix the serious bug, w

  2. Files lost after cut and paste with USB (android phone to windows laptop)

My files from android phone were lost after cut and paste in my laptop with USB. So, they didn't even copy and disappeared from the original location on the phone. I mention that the USB was not disconnected during the transfer. Please help me how to recover my files and how do you fix the "cut and paste" error? This error has existed for many years, and it is unpleasant when it happens.

Please give me solution coz my data is very important to me.

    Thank you,

  3. Uploading data from android to pc

    Hi AlaynaHarstine,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

    • Have you tried to connect the Android device to PC using an USB cable?

However, you may follow these steps to check if that helps:

    • Connect the Android device to the PC using a micro USB cable.
    • You can see an ‘AutoPlay popup’ on your PC once your phone is successfully connected and recognized by the computer. Click on the ‘Open folder to view files’ option.
    • Copy and paste the files or folders that you want to recover from your phone's internal memory to your PC.
    • When the steps are done, you can successfully recover and transfer your data from Android phone with broken screen to your PC.

Alternatively, if you have the data saved on an external SD card, then you can plug in the card to the PC to transfer the data. You may need an adaptor to read the SD card on the PC.

    Hope this helps.

Let us know if you got the help you needed by clicking ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.

  4. Data loss after CUT and PASTE via USB from Android to Windows

Major defect with WM6 - Cut & Paste, then Cancel resulting in lost files!!

    Reproduction steps

IPAQ 214, with WM6 classic, CE OS 5.2.1711 (build 18165.0.5.0)

    PC - WinXP Pro, SP2

    • Connect ipaq to PC via USB cable.
    • Select mulitiple files from ipaq via Win Explorer on PC
    • Cut and paste files to a folder on PC (by drag & drop whilst holding Shift key)
    • Whilst files are copying, click cancel (on PC dialogue box)
    Expected results

Cut and paste operation ceases, leaving any uncopied files from source (i.e. files should remain on ipaq)

    Actual results

Cut and paste operation ceases, and all files are MISSING from source.

    Result/impact

I have lost all my data.

    Any advice on data recovery?

If anyone has any advice for me regarding how to recover the data I would be very much obliged.

    Best regards

    Mark
