Windows 10: Data Loss After Merging Partitions on HP Laptop Running Windows 11

I have an HP laptop with a 1TB hard drive, which is divided into two partitions: one of 100GB and the other with the remaining space. The laptop is running Windows 11. When I tried to create a new partition, the two existing partitions merged, and I lost all of my files.

• I want to merge 4 partitions into 1 in Disk 0. (RED)
  
• I want to merge 2 partitions into 1 in Disk 1. (GREEN)

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

On Disk 0, never touch that first EFI partition, that is the boot partition, if you touch that, your PC will not boot up.

You cannot merge the C drive partition with the D drive partition without loosing data, you would need to move the data from the D drive partition onto some other drive temporarily, then delete the D drive partition and merge the resulting space into the C drive partition, then move that data back onto the C drive partition

On Disk 1, you can right click and delete that 541MB recovery partition and extend the E drive partition into the resulting space,

There is plenty of third party software available on the Web that will do that for you, but I find the free version of AOMEI Partition Assistant the quickest and most intuitive way to manage partitions without data loss -

Honestly, I would shrink the data partition and extend the System partition to something in the region of 100GB+

Merging partitions can be done without data loss, however the operation is not without its pitfalls as the location of data is changed from D to C for example and this can cause problems . . .
