Windows 10: Data Loss without any intervention

Dear Team, I have HP Laptop EliteBook SN: 5CG94979Z8 , we found that the laptop performance is not fine, we updated Google Chrome and reset TCP IP Network Driver and restart the laptop. After restart we found that the data on D has been disappeared and partition D become empty more than 100 GB gone , we tried to find any recorded-on windows event viewer to understand why this happened? but we didn't find any records. Hard drive is SSD and encrypted with Bitlockerwe tried to recovery the data and we recovered 140 GB PDF-PST-WORD-PPT-XLSX but all files are corrupted, and unfortunately, th

Recently upgraded to windows 10 (1903) resulting in data loss. Very disappointed. Please Help!

No one can help you if you won't tell us what data was lost, where it was originally stored, and
what steps you've taken so far to find it. Otherwise, you're hoping for a lucky guess.

Convert Windows 10 from Legacy BIOS to UEFI without Data Loss

Here it is:

Asumming you already have:
1) Windows Installation USB/DVD
2) Macrium Rescue disk.

Here's a step by step procedure:

Create a backup image of the whole disk to another external/internal disk and don't forget to verify it.

Boot up Windows installation disk, hold SHIFT+F10 to get the command Windows and type:
diskpart
list disk
select disk # where # is the SSD of current Windows
clean
exit
exit

Click Next and select Custom then continue to install Windows, when get to the screen below, select the unallocated partition then click Next (do not format)

On next screen below. After getting the check mark on the first item, click on the red X to cancel the installation, turn off the PC:
This should create:
500MB Recovery, 100MB EFI System, 16MB and C drive with not much data in it, you will restore the original C drive on next step.

Now boot up the Macrium Rescue disk, select the image from step 1, and select the SSD as destination disk.

Click on C partition of destination then click on "Delete this partition".

Drag and Drop the C partition from source to destination.

Once done, click on "Fix Windows boot problems"

Get into BIOS and select UEFI to boot from GPT disk.

Boot into Windows, you are now running Windows with GPT disk.

The procedure should not take long, 30 minutes at most. HTH.
