    "Date Acquired" Vs. "Date Taken"

I have a photo whose metadata lists the photo's "date acquired" as before the "date taken." How is that possible? What's the definition and difference between "date acquired" vs. "date taken" when referring to a photo?

    :)

Questions on photo files: date taken vs date acquired? Not possible to set time taken?

I have scanned some old photos from paper format to, well you know, electronic format. I wanted to manually add date and time in the photos so that they are sorted correctly in places like Google photos.

But when I open file properties -> Details, I see there are Date taken field and
Date acquired field. What are the difference? Acquired
in what meaning? The moment I get them from other people?

I then added a date in Date taken field. But the result is that a time
was added as well! And the time was the moment I changed this field! I mean, I changed the date around 9pm. So the time shown up in Date taken is also around 9pm! And of course that's not the correct time when the photo was taken.

Is there anyway to change this time to something else?

    Thanks

    Looks like some copy-n-paste reply.....

That doesn't answer my question: the difference between date taken and date acquired.

And I asked how to change the time.

    Jpg Date Taken Not Shown

Gm, I got as far as "modify" on your list but my modify button was ghosted.

Here's another thing I noticed this morning. If I right click a jpeg, properties, then date taken is missing. But if I instead open a jpeg, go to menu, then file info, date taken is displayed (although I'm not sure the date taken is accurate).

Also on some of my photos if I right click, then properties, date taken is displayed. But on others, date taken is missing.
