Date and time format in start menu file search inconsistent with system date and time format

When I search for a file in the start menu (hitting start and typing the name of the file), it finds the file and shows the path and date modified. However, the date is in US style (month/day/year) and not in the system style (day/month/year), and the time is in AMPM instead of 24h (which is the system style). Is there a way to change this or is this an oversight?

  2. Inconsistent date formats

Generally dates are shown in Australian format, but when SEARCH (Cortana ?) reports a file, the date of latest modification it shows is in American date format. Can that be 'aligned' ?

  3. CHANGE DATE @ TIME IN WINDOWS 10

    Hi Edward,

You can change the time format to 24 hours in Date and Time settings. To do so, please follow these steps:

    • In Cortana's search box, please type "Date and Time".
    • Click on Change date and time format.
    • To change the time to 24hr format, in the long and short time options, please click
HH:MM from the drop down menu.
    • For the date format, please choose dd/mmm/yy format.

Please let us know if you need further help.

    Date and Time Formatting

    Hi PhilWarren1

Greetings! I am Vijay, an Independent Advisor. You will have to differentiate between date and time as both are stored as numbers only. Hence, if a cell you are going to format as date, you should put date only and if you are going to format a cell as time,
    you should put time only.

For date, you need to use following custom format (You will need to use full 6 digits, hence you need to enter 100719 not 10719)

    00\/00 \/00

For time, you need to use following custom format

    00\:00

This changes the display not the exact value.

If you need to change it to date and time format not only in display, VBA code will be required. Let me know that you don't need custom format method but VBA code method,
