Windows 10: Date Modified Sort Not Working Properly

Hi,

I just installed Windows 10 Home 64 bit about a week ago and noticed an issue where if I'm sorting a folder (specifically my Download folder) to have the most recent files at the top, new downloaded files will sometimes be put at the bottom. If I click the Date Modified bar twice, the first time to sort with oldest on top and second to have newest on top again the said new file will then appear at the top in the correct order.

Sort files AND folders by "Date Modified" in File Explorer

Hello,

Is there a way to sort folders and individual files by "Date Modified" together? Right now, when I sort by "Date Modified," folders are automatically put at the bottom below files, even if they have been modified more recently than a file. When I'm quickly
scanning a list, this is very distracting. How can I fix this?

 

Sorting Files by Date Created Not Working Properly

I've been having issues trying to sort my video files by date modified. Even though they are all supposed to be in a single order, they all seem to be put in random spots when the sorting method is set to 'Date'.

The culprit may be when I look at the files' properties, under Details > Origin, the date for 'Media created' seems to be some random date.

I've heard recommendations saying to run a System File Check, but it either didn't work for me or I did something wrong. Any other suggestions?

How to force Windows to sort always by date modified and always ascending?

The situation is that often

1) Modified field is Off (not listed in Sort By menu by default)

2) Once opened More menu modified field is sometimes named Modified and some times Date modified

3) Once selected, it switched to Descending.

So, in most circumstances I need more than 10 click to do this sorting.

How to make zero?
