Windows 10: date of birth change from child to parent

    Help. I am, unable to change the date of birth on my microsoft account, it is currently a child account although I am an adult. I am not sure how this happened - the settings wont let me change and I am in desperate need for this to happen as I am trying to study and open applications but it is saying i need parent permission and its extremely frustrating.

    How do i change the DOB (date of birth/birthdate) for a child account through the parent account? How do you do Option 3?

    Hi,

    If the birth date on a Microsoft account says that it belongs to a child, there are different steps to take in regions such as the United States of America and the Republic of Korea, and other regions that regulate what children can do online. Here is what
    to do when you are a parent trying to change your child's birth date:

    • Using the parent's Microsoft account, sign in to your
      Family       page on the Microsoft account website.
    • Select Manage my child's profile info.
    • For the child’s account that you want to change, select Edit this child's personal info and then follow the instructions.

    Change adult birth date to a childs birthdate.

    If you set up an account with an adult birth date, then try to change it to a child's birth date, it will tell you you can't. I Changed my childs birth date to adult to access some things and now I
    want to change it back to child. I'm beyond frustrated. Please help me!

    I am trying to help my dad who cannot access his email because his profile date of birth has him listed as a child. His date of birth cannot be changed because he is the only user and does not have a "parent" to change his data. His name and other information can be changed but his date of birth is the only thing he cannot change. He is now concerned that he will have to set up a whole new account and loose all his emails. I can't find any information that is helpful.
