    Change my date of birth on microsoft profile

    Hi Alex,

    To change the date of birth on your Microsoft Account, you can follow the steps below:

    • Sign in to
      Your info       on the Microsoft account website.
    • Click Edit your personal info.
    • Select the correct date of birth, and then select Save.

    If the birth date on a Microsoft account says that it belongs to a child, there are different steps to take in regions that regulate what children can do online. You can check this

    • When you say ‘Age/date of birth question on setup’, are you talking about the age/date of birth information requested while setting up a Microsoft account?

    If you’re talking about the date of birth associated with your Microsoft account, you may try the steps listed in the article

    Date of birth on an account

    Hi

    I recently discovered that my older son set up his account with a date of birth that made him well over 18 (so that he could get his 'phone to work as otherwise it needed parental controls). I didn't realise this, or that there was the option for parental
    controls when he did this and found out recently when setting up a 'phone for my younger son.

    We have changed the date of birth on his account, but it has made no difference at all in the parental controls. I tried the "help chat" but they were spectacularly unhelpful.

    Is there a way that I can sort his account out to be for the right date of birth, but without having to create a new account and so lose all his settings and data etc?
