  2. For "DaveM121" concerning a previous post

Hello, again, DaveM121. I am here again, in reference to a thread from Oct. 5, 2022 titled "Random "BSOD" incidents. I was going to reply in that discussion but got the following statement ... "This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread." So, I'll share here.

Random "BSOD" incidents - Microsoft Community

When I got up this morning, programs I usually leave open were all closed. My external drives were connected. I usually leave them connected overnight if I transfer a large amount of files, which I did yesterday evening. I tried unmounting them, using the "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" icon on the right side of the taskbar. The Gaming drive gave me a "still in use" statement so, I did the same for the Passport drive. That gave me the "Okay to Remove" statement so, I did so. I then went to remove the Game Drive and it was no longer listed in the "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" area. So, I unplugged the USB cord for that as well.

I then went to "Windows update" to see if there was an update hanging things up. May have been a wrong step, I know. There was a "Cumulative Update there. I clicked on it. It had problems and gave me a "Retry" button, which didn't work so, at that time, I restarted the PC. After over 5 minutes of the Disk being at 100% in Device manager, things settled down and I was able to install the Update.

It was at that time, I remembered about the "minidump" issues. After all these months there was a new one in that folder. Here is the link for that file .....

    https://1drv.ms/u/s!AlVF4vUEspGrkCv1n6fIpRb_ikPN?e=MpRuAr

I hope I gave all the needed details.

Edit: I failed to mention, the timestamp on the "minidump" was like 5 minutes before my other programs closed.

    Programs not working

In post 26 there were steps listed to fix the operating system corruption.
Are you able to follow them?
In post 29 was the suggested dism repair command.
