Windows 10: Daylight Saving Time - Illinois ended for last time

So in Illinois we just ended Daylight Saving Time for the last time. No more spring forward, fall back for us.

I'm doing a new installation and I set the timezone for Central US. When I uncheck the "Adjust for daylight saving time automatically" the hour drops back one hour from where it is supposed to be.

Is this going to wreak havoc come Fall when we don't fall back anymore? I remember like 5-7 years ago, the law changed when daylight saving went into effect and Windows XP did not handle this very well which resulted in two weeks changing clocks of folks computers.

Any insight on this would be much appreciated!

Hi RachelCreamer... could be your machine is not set to automatically update time.

To find out go to start - settings - Time and Language - Date and Time.

Make sure it is set to Set time automatically and that your time zone is set to CST.

And adjust for daylight savings time automatically is set to on.

This issue may happen if your region or time zone doesn't observe Daylight Saving Time (DST).

To check if DST is available, follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + S.
• Type Control Panel and press Enter.
• Select Clock, Language, and Region.
• Click Date and Time.
• Under Time zone, check if there's any indications regarding Daylight Saving Time.
