Windows 10: DCOM error 41 while pc is idle, but not while games are running

I have an MSI GP75 LEOPARD 9SE-485IN laptop, 4 years old. From around 1 year, my pc gets the DCOM error 41 while sitting idle or any applications are running. But it runs games without any problems. The DCOM error leads to random restarts. I tried some methods from other people's questions about the same problem but nothing worked out for me. I have changed the battery as well as the charger but nothing happened. Any genuine solutions will be appreciated.

The odds are that you're probably correct. I'm willing to bet that his error; like all the other millions of users that get DCOM errors, is being generated because random segments of code left behind dead entries in the registry.


I have a list of dead entries that I have deleted from the registry that have left no ill effects and that is why I was asking for his Guid alphanumeric code. You would be surprised how many dead entries I have deleted from the registry and still have a flawlessly functioning computer.

I've found similar questions in Microsoft Community, and I see Kernel Power 41 (63) error is often related to hardware issues. To verify if this is true or not, I suggest you perform the troubleshooting steps first:

1. Try on another PC with different hardware and see if you will encounter the same issue.

2. Make a list for the games or programs which cause this issue, and compare your hardware with their hardware requirements, so that we can narrow down the root cause.

Power Kernel 41 Error, During Gaming, Possibly Software?

Hi storm shadow,

There are 3 different crashes

1. A freeze crash
2. A sudden shutdown/restart crash
3. A bluescreen crash

A memory dump will only be created when a bluescreen crash occurs.
A kernel event id 41 only means an unexpected power problem has occured what happens with both a shutdown/restart and bluescreen crashes.

I would suggest to check the connection of the components and make sure everything is connected properly to start with.
