Windows 10: DCOM Error Event 10036 in PC Client Side

Currently we are connecting OPC DA client to an remote OPC DA server using DCOM technology. OPC DA client can be connected to OPC DA Server. We got all tags from OPC DA Server and the values are good in OPC DA client but we found that there are DCOM errors detected in PC Client's Windows Event Viewer every 2 minutes as long as OPC DA client accesses the OPC DA Server.I read this article and the error 10036 should be on the PC server side but it's strange that the errors appear on the PC client side.https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/kb5004442-manage-changes-for-windows-d

Cortana and DCOM Error Event 10016

My PC was giving many DCOM error 10016 involving Cortana as follows:

The machine-default permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {C2F03A33-21F5-47FA-B4BB-156362A2F239} and APPID {316CDED5-E4AE-4B15-9113-7055D84DCC97} to the user PC-PC\PC from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_1.6.1.52_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy.This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

I fixed this by giving Administrator permissions to the two registry keys mentioned above, by editing the registry as per these instructions:

The next step is to change the DCOM settings in DCOM Config. I had to change the DCOM settings by going to Component Services, then opening Computers, then right clicking on My Computer then selecting Properties. Then under Access Permissions click "Edit Limits" and adding Administrators to the group.

After a PC reboot the errors no longer come up.

My question is, is adding Administrators to the group under Access Permissions a good way to do it, or is there a better way? Have I inadvertantly done something bad that will upset something else (so far so good).

DCom persistent error


Remote proxy factory 32 class writes a Dcom Event Viewer error when EDGE, with multi-tabs, is closed...saying that it doesn't have activation permission for NJNxxx\My Account. It has.

In this HOME version, there are two registry entries for the RPF32 class. In each, Desktop-NJNxxx\Users; Desktop-NJNxxx\My Account; Desktop-NJNxxx\Administrators and SYSTEM have full control.

The same entries appear in DComcfg, along with Local Service, which has been given local launch permission for both RPF32class entries.

So, the permissions procedure has been followed, yet the error persists. Why?

(This box has HOME Win10. Another, with PRO, uses default Dcom settings and doesn't reference 'Desktop-NJNxxx. ' It instead lists the user name, and it never throws the Dcom error. That's likely not relevant - just a naming convention difference.)
