Windows 10: DCOMLaunch Service Group prevents my computer going to sleep mode

Hello,Since a few days ago, my computer is unable to enter sleep mode. When I try to go to sleep mode the screen turns off but the PC remains running.I have identified the process responsible for this using the command powercfg /requests and this is the output:C:\Windows\System32>powercfg /requests DISPLAY: None. SYSTEM: [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume3\Windows\SysWOW64\svchost.exe AWAYMODE: [PROCESS] \Device\HarddiskVolume3\Windows\SysWOW64\svchost.exe EXECUTION: None. PERFBOOST: None. ACTIVELOCKSCREEN: None. When I trace back to the PID of this specific process I get 554 who corresp

Computer stopped going into sleep mode

Hello, Kiran.

My computer is up to date and I didn't change any settings prior or after the update

I tried step one, but I haven't wait the time required for the computer to go into sleep mode. I did change the 30 minute wait to 10 minutes. So, I'll wait and see what happens

FYI, In early December, while I had my Windows update over-ride disabled, MS blessed my PC with a new 2004 OS. The sleep function has been completely intermittent and unreliable ever since except for one short period. The previous OS, 1809 worked wonderfully for sleep and auto-brightness adjustments between DC & AC power. All gone now. :-\

After running powercfg -requests just now, I noted 2 instances of a battery limiter App I use that may have been preventing sleep, fixed now. I'll shorten the delay time for sleep and see if sleep works again.







Update;

It appears that sleep is working on my PC with 2004, it must have been fixed by MS. *Rolleyes

I'm glad I didn't clean install 1909 as a fix. *Smile

 

iTunes stops playing when the computer go to sleep

Sleep mode is designed to stop all actions on a computer as it puts the device to a low-power state. Since you want to continue using a program even while your computer is locked, we suggest turning off Sleep mode by following these steps:

• Click Start.
• Go to Settings.
• Click System.
• Choose Power & Sleep from the left pane.
• Under Sleep, choose Never.
