Windows 10: December 2024 Windows update sound issue

Hi! Last December 2024 I installed the latest Windows 11 update on my PC, and since then I've a sound issue. I have an M-Audio external sound interface that I use for music production and since that Windows update, if there's no sound playing like a video streaming, or listening to music, after about 1 minute, the audio just turns off until sound is resumed. I have done all the troubleshooting, installed the latest drives, etc, but nothing seems to work. Only when I rolled back to the previous update did this issue disappeared, but Windows has now updated back to the latest version and the

Method 1: Perform playing audio Troubleshoot.

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Sound. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Audio.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
• Run the playing Audio troubleshooter.

Method 2: I suggest you to roll back the driver and check if it helps.

Follow the steps to roll back the drivers:

a. Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.

b. Expand the Sound, Video and game controllers.

c. Right-click on the Sound card and click on
Roll Back the driver software..

d. Restart the computer and check.

• Click on view all option on the upper left corner of
  Troubleshooting window.
• Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.

Cumulative December update

I tried to download and install the December Cumulative Update from the website you had listed and did not have any luck. I received error messages stating that it would not install and it still has not come through windows update. Do you have any other
suggestions?
