Windows 10: December windows update

Turn on computer early this morning. For 5 hours message on screen says:

Hi

We've got some updates for your PC

This might take several minutes

Don't turn off your PC


Am a senior and not really tech savvy.

What do I do.

Just called Best Buy and they told me they would only charge me $189 Canadian to fix the problem.

Cumulative December update

I tried to download and install the December Cumulative Update from the website you had listed and did not have any luck. I received error messages stating that it would not install and it still has not come through windows update. Do you have any other
suggestions?

 

Windows 10 broken links after December update

Since the December update the short cuts to the Windows store, Bing weather and the calculator no longer works, a window opens but quickly closes on all the listed apps. I've tried a few forum suggestions but nothings worked to date. Could you advise please.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
