Windows 10: decent program launcher with catagories

hey all, I recently got a new PC after about three years of not having one to myself

I just spent way too long looking for cute icons to organize shortcuts to my various programs, however, in the default windows explorer they just don't look very good. I have spent way too long looking for a decent program launcher that lets me categorize my shortcuts underneath cute little icons that ive downloaded.

Ive looked through rainmeter skins and deviantart is frustrating as hell and I cant find something similar to what I'm looking for. I tried vipad , however it doesnt seem to have options for customizing the appearance to something that looks as good as I want.

So please reddit, before I actually go insane can someone please help me find something that will do what I want? I am getting to a point where I'm seriously considering relearning how to program to get this set up

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Community. May we ask if what troubleshooting you have tried? We highly suggest you to try the steps below.

• Restart your phone.
• If the issue persists after restarting your phone, it only means that the default launcher is needed for any other launchers to work properly. Re-installing the default launcher should resolve the issue.

Once your Android phone is back on its default settings, re-install the Microsoft Launcher and your other apps.

Note: You can easily restore your Microsoft Launcher settings if you have performed a back up. To back up your Microsoft Launcher settings, please do the following:

1. Launch the Microsoft Launcher settings. (Tap and hold your phone's home screen and tap on the
   Launcher Settings.)
2. Tap Back up & Restore.
3. Tap Back up Microsoft Launcher option.
4. Confirm that the Back up to cloud storage option is selected.
5. Tap the Back up button.
6. Check the settings that you want to back up.
7. Tap the Back up now button.

You may restore your Microsoft Launcher back up after re-installing it.

If you can no longer re-install your phone's default launcher, please get in touch with its manufacturer for assistance on how you can reset it to its factory settings.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

 

Programs Launcher

I don't know about a portable launcher - how does being portable line up with relating to programs in a particular location on your PC?

There's absolutely no need to organise shortcuts on your desktop.

Classic Shell (still valid) lets you do that with folder creation and drag 'n drop.

If you want something different for fewer programs, try stablauncher which also autohides.
