  1. Decrypt a windows 7 fixed disk on a windows 10 system

    Hi to all,

I was wondering how do I decrypt a windows 7 fixed disk on a pc running windows 10 OS?

I have the encryption key for the win 7 disk but its requires me to type in the encryption key everytime I try access it after I power on the PC running windows 10.

I have some work that's pretty important on the old win7 disk that I want to transfer over to the new win10

Here is what lead me to this problem.

Removed old fixed drive with windows 7 from laptop

Installed new hdd and imaged it with windows 10 and ran bitlocker. So the windows 10 drive is encrypted

Installed old windows 7 drive back into the old hdd bay

Set boot order so that the windows 10 disk boots up

Windows 10 recognized the windows 7 drive as E:

But each time I try to access the E: drive' which is a Windows 7 Drive through windows 10, that requires me to enter the encryption key

How do I stop it from asking me that and encrypt the E: drive with the same key as the windows 10 drive ?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
