Windows 10: Decryption on Drive - 0% Write Speed

I just had my computer reset at MicroCenter and they left one of the drives encrypted. I'm decrypting it but it's caused the entire SSD to stop working when trying to explore in it/open files in it.Assume this is normal? The microcenter employee wasn't even aware he encrypted it.

Slow HDD read and write speeds

We will require a few more information from you to help you further with the issue. Please reply with the following details:

• In which device are you facing this issue?
  
• Are you using an external HDD or internal HDD?
  
• Are you getting the read and write speed issue on any particular application?
  

However, you can Disk Defragment on your computer to optimize the drive. To run Disk Defragment please follow the steps from the article

Defragment your Windows 10 PC.

Alternatively, you can check for the read and write speed of the HDD in task manager. Please follow the steps mentioned below to check the read and write speed of the hard drive:

1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc key together on the keyboard.
   
2. Click on Performance tab.
   
3. Click on Disk 0.
   
4. You will find the Read speed and
   Write speed at the bottom of the window.

Bitlocker Decryption paused and does not resume.

I can imagine the inconvenience you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction in fixing the issue.



I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to fix the issue.

1. Open the command prompt as admin.
   
2. Type in manage-bde –off <drive> and hit
   Enter.
   
   manage-bde –resume <drive>
   

manage-bde –on <drive>

Replace Drive by drive letter

1. Restart the computer and check the status of the issue

BitLocker Drive Decryption stuck

Hi!!, Evelyn

during the 3-4 days, it keeps decrypting all the time and never goes on at 80.3%

Even now it is stuck

No read-write process from 3-4 days on this drive

During the decryption process, the read-write speed is usually 100MBps (BothReadingAndWriting)

Currently NIL.....

BTW I can still access the data with the same Read-Write speed as earlier

It decrypted to 80.3% in 6-7hrs (for your info)
