    Dedicated dump file


    This is in reference to Windows client and server systems.



    Can anyone help me in understanding what is a dedicated dump file exactly? What is its purpose and how is it different to the page file ?



    I saw some talk about system drive limitations so say if there were limitations with space on the system drive then why can't we just move the page file to another drive and set the dump location there too?



    Because both the page file and memory dump has settings to change their location to another drive.

    BSOD display. Used verifier. Got dump files ready to be checked.

    • Have you tried to boot the PC in safe mode?
    • Aside from changing RAM, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
    • Can you tell us the make and model of your PC?
