    Default Admin with unknown password


    Backstory: Was establishing new windows images for some of my companies older computers. I factory-reset a Dell Inspiron Tower, with Win10. I didn't bother backing up anything because it wasn't necessary. After factory-reset was complete, I attempted to establish the GoDaddy account from our domain for the user I was configuring with as it was going through the internet process it said it couldn't establish an account. Now I have no accounts on the tower, but the default admin and it is requesting a password not known, and I attempted to press enter already. So I have attempted to use some other means that have work for me before when I didn't know the PW, but I am running into a problem where it doesn't even let me have a chance to open BIOS. I have restarted several times, and press F2, F8, & F12 during start-up but the screen doesn't appear until I get to the Windows sign-in. It requests password, but I don't know it.


    Things Done:

    • Attempted to hold shift+ restart then select Factory reset again, but it goes into a state I am not familiar with and it seems on but nothing is responding.
    • Attempted to boot off my Thumb drive from the hold shift+Restart, but same thing happens.
    • Attempted to blindly press F2, F8, & F12 while system was turning on with no monitor display, only would show up at the Windows login


    Extra Notes:

    1. Device does have connectivity to internet
    2. It gives me option to sign into an Microsoft work/school account but it doesn't accept
    3. Has an option at login where it just says password.

    You can reset the Admin Password using Windows XP repair; See Here for step by step.

    Ok, I know these questions have been asked, but I have tried everything I can understand.
    Need to be spoken like a noob - step by step please.
    Win10 put on my system everything initially fine, then discovered files missing - tried to install a recover program to be frustrated by a prompt to input an admin password with User [USER-PC\USER]
    I have tried every password ever used.
    I have tried going to cmd prompt
    I cant install anything to circumnavigate because I cant get past this dialogue.

    any suggests?

    Ok, now this is weird: XP repair will not accept my new password! WTF?
