Windows 10: 'Default Apps' page in Settings frozen

So I was trying to change my default web browser to Google Chrome in the settings app and I don't know what happened. As soon as I had changed it the apps in my toolbar and on my desktop page started glitching. It looks like they are refreshing over and over again. (It looks as if you went to your desktop page, right-clicked and pressed the refresh button over and over again.) I've tried to reset my default apps but whenever I go into the Default Apps page in Settings, the page freezes and the apps start glitching again. (The apps only glitch when I open that specific page in the settings app.) Please help me with this problem, although it's not major I would like to get it fixed.

• Navigate to Start>Settings>System.
• In the left pane, click on Default Apps.
• In the right pane, click on Choose default apps by file type.
• Set the default App to open .jpg files and check for status.

got out of frozen signin page


I added "free" Windows 10 on my Dell Inspiron 1545 which first had Windows 7 and was on a frozen signin page all day yesterday. Tried all kinds of online help suggestions, to no avail. Finally, turned the laptop off, then pressed and held F12 button while turning it back on. It finally got me off that frozen page to the page I usually go to when first turning the computer on. Went to apps and then settings where I found an option to uninstall Windows 10, which I did immediately. It took about 1/2 hour to run diagnostic and reboot. Hope this helps somebody avoid the loss of a day online.

 

Cannot set "Calendar" as default app

I would suggest you to try the below steps and check whether you are able to make the Calendar as default.

• Go to Settings.
• Click on System.
• Select Default apps from the left pane.
• Click on Choose default app by protocol at the bottom.
• Select the Calendar and choose an app.
