    When I go to - 'Setting: Choose default app by file type', my only selection is 'look for apps from Microsoft store'. I have the apps I wish to use installed on my computer how do I access/browse for them?


    Second - when an app has been updated, how do I change default to use new version? eg. I updated Audials 2019 to 2020 and my 20,000 plus audio library wants to load the old version. It is not practical to change ever single audio/video file one at a time as suggested - to use file, properties, - open with...

    Cannot set "Calendar" as default app

    Welcome to Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 Technical Preview is much appreciated.



    I would suggest you to try the below steps and check whether you are able to make the Calendar as default.

    • Go to Settings.
    • Click on System.
    • Select Default apps from the left pane.
    • Click on Choose default app by protocol at the bottom.
    • Select the Calendar and choose an app.

    Changing the default storage designation for the Microsoft Windows Store and various apps.

    Hi Isaac,

    The default storage location for the Windows store and apps is in system location where Windows is stored (This PC-> C drive), if you want to change the default location of the apps then I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the settings
    and check if it helps.

    • Open Settings and click on the System icon.
    • Click on Storage on the left side, on the right side under
      Save locations, select the drive to where you want your
      documents      , music, pictures, and/or
      videos       to be saved to by default.
    • Click/tap on Apply.

    The above settings option is available only from the Windows version (10586), I suggest you to check in which version of Windows build in installed on your computer.
