  1. Default Audio and input devices changing rapidly

Hello, for starters this issue will only be fixed after a restart and seemingly starts up after I try and alter what my default communication or recording device is. It will then "seek out" for a lack of better terms, a device to set a default leading to my computer's audio freaking out. This issue seemingly starts at random. I will list a few things that have got this issue to trigger. Plugging in Astro headset, plugging in PlayStation controller, trying to set a microphone as a default device. I dont exactly know where to start on this issue, it started up after i updated to newer drivers for audio, my cpu and my gpu. I have sense rolled back my audio drivers to no avail and ran some trouble shooters from windows which have also not helped. Help asap!!

    :)

  2. audio input

    Hi Nico,

Damaged hardware or incompatible driver are some of the possible causes why you are experiencing an issue the audio input on your device. For us to provide an accurate solution, we would need you to answer the following questions:

    • Which build, version and edition of Windows is installed on your computer?
    • Are you using an external audio input device? If yes, what is the make and model of the audio input device you are using as microphone?
    • Have you made any changes to your computer settings before this issue happened?

In the meantime, we suggest running the automated troubleshooter for audio issue. Visit this link,
click on Find and fix problems recording sounds and then follow the prompts to successfully run the tool.

We are looking forward to your response.

  4. Default Audio and input devices changing rapidly

Set new audio device default for volume mixer in Windows 10

    I use two audio devices:

    • Default (audio) device "Realtec Digital Output (Optical)"
    • Default communication device "Lautsprecher (Speaker)"

    My goal:
I want to have the default audio volume on my default communication device, instead of the default device - at all times.

    What I tried so far:
Changing the volume mixer to my communication device explicitly works temporary, but as soon as I close the settings window, the default audio volume is reset again to the default audio device.

Step 1: Clicking on volume shows me the default device:

Step 2: Changing the volume mixer to my communication device manually:

Step 3: Clicking again on volume does not keep the change Default Audio and input devices changing rapidly :(

How can I make it permanent that windows uses my communication device for default volume control?
