  1. Default audio device resetting to default when system boots

Headset - Steel series arctis 1 wirelessThe headset has a number of options for audio output chat, gaming, speakersTo allow me to hear people in discord and use them as general sound output it has to be set to speakers headset speakers when booting the system the audio output defaults to gaming. I have set the speakers as default for audio and communications in windows and also disabled every other option within the recordings tab, uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling did not work. I have enabled the default audio in Steel Series GG engine to use the speakers instead of the window

  2. Set new audio device default for volume mixer in Windows 10

    I use two audio devices:

    • Default (audio) device "Realtec Digital Output (Optical)"
    • Default communication device "Lautsprecher (Speaker)"

    My goal:
I want to have the default audio volume on my default communication device, instead of the default device - at all times.

    What I tried so far:
Changing the volume mixer to my communication device explicitly works temporary, but as soon as I close the settings window, the default audio volume is reset again to the default audio device.

Step 1: Clicking on volume shows me the default device:

Step 2: Changing the volume mixer to my communication device manually:

Step 3: Clicking again on volume does not keep the change Default audio device resetting to default when system boots :(

How can I make it permanent that windows uses my communication device for default volume control?

    Default Boot Device Missing fix?

Hello Rumen, sorry about your problems. My name is Marco and I will do my best to help you.

The error messages you are seeing suggest that the laptop is unable to find a bootable device, which could be due to a misconfiguration in the BIOS/UEFI or a hardware issue with the storage device.

    Turn off your laptop completely.

Press the power button to turn on the laptop.

Immediately start pressing the F2 key repeatedly to enter the BIOS setup.

Once you are in the BIOS/UEFI settings:

-Check the boot order to ensure that the internal hard drive or SSD is listed as the first boot device.

-Look for any settings related to storage or SATA configuration and make sure they are set correctly.

-If you see an option to load default settings (often F9), you might want to try that to reset the BIOS settings to their defaults, which can sometimes resolve boot issues.

If the storage device is not listed or if these steps do not resolve the issue, the storage device may have failed or become disconnected. In this case, you may need to contact Lenovo support or consider returning the laptop for service.

    Permanently set default audio device

    Hi Joost,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you need assistance to set your internal sound card as the default playback device on your Windows 10 computer.

In this scenario it is required to disable the audio device of the docking station. Disabling the audio device for the docking station will enable the internal sound card. To do so,

    1. Right click on Volume icon on the taskbar > Open
      Sound settings.
    2. Click on Sound control panel option and click on
      Playback tab.
    3. Right click on the audio device for docking station and click on
      Disable.
    4. This results in enabling the playback device to internal sound card.

If the issue still persists, I suggest you to post your query in
    IT TechNet forums
, since the settings which needs to
be implemented on domain environment. We have dedicated team of experts who are equipped with the resources to suggest you with the further steps.
