    Default desktop folder got messed up after changing the user folder name.


    So I've wanted to change my user folder name because it looked ugly I followed a great step everything worked until I restarted my computer. The default desktop would not open itself since the path is related to the old user folder name I've changed the ProfileImagePath in regedit but seems like it did not work. Possibly it did not work since this stupid OneDrive made a specific desktop for it. I need help ASAP!

    User's Name Desktop Folder changed it's name to "Folders"

    I have a problem with my User Folder.

    Actually the User Folder name is fine, but when you add the Folder on the desktop (with the option on Personalize + Themes) it changed it's name to "Folders"

    I've tried creating new users, but every new user I create, no matter how you name that user, when you active the user folder on the desktop it appears as "Folders".

    Does anyone have a solution for this? It's not like a big problem but it disturbs my visual.

    Users folder name changed automatically from "My_username" to "Folders"

    If you highlight Folders can you use the Restore Default button?

    When you click on Folders on Desktop, does it open your User Account folder with all the user sub-folders inside?

    Make sure your User account folder is in the default Location. Go to C:\Users\Your User name, right click on your named User account folder, on Location tab what is the location shown. It should be C:\Users\Your User name. Is this correct? Are all of the User
    sub-folders listed under your User account name and in their correctly location?

    If so then it doesn't matter what it's called on your desktop.

    I understand that you are facing issues with changing the folder name under Users folder in Windows 10.

    I suggest you to perform the below steps and check if it helps.

    1. Open the File Explorer and double click on C drive.

    2. Open Users folder from the list.

    3. Click on the user name folder and then tap on F2 Key.

    4. Change the name of the folder and hit on Enter Key.

    5. It will ask for Administrator Permission and click on Ok.

    6. Folder name will be changed.
