Windows 10: Default gateway repeatedly isn't available with ethernet via Dell Dock

Several times each day my office PC stops connecting to the internet. The ethernet port is labelled as "no connection" and apps stop working.Luckily, the Windows troubleshooter for "Network Adapter" is able to resolve the issue by resetting the ethernet adapter.Unfortunately, running the troubleshooter doesn't permanently fix the problem. Some time will go by and the same thing will happen again.The troubleshooter lists the issue fixed as "The default gateway is not available", which may indicate an issue with my router. I had this exact same issue with a Dell laptop which has an Intel wireless adapter.

What fixed it for me was changing the Power Saving options for my wireless adapter to Maximum Performance. You can follow the steps in this article: Fix Wireless Limited Access Default Gateway Not Available Windows 10 - TeckLyfe

 

Windows 10 default gateway repeatedly not available

On our home network I connect to the router through Ethernet cable, and sometimes once a day, sometimes three-four times in a row my laptop "loses the default gateway".

I experience that I have no connection to the internet, then run the troubleshooter, which resets the Ethernet adapter, and says the problem was that the default gateway was not available This usually solves the problem, but it's really frustrating. What
could be the problem? We have other Windows 10 PCs and laptops but none of them has this issue.

Thanks, but my problem is with my Ethernet adapter. I tried this anyway (of course with my ethernet, not wifi), but it keeps loosing the default gateway.
