Windows 10: default resolution of 3840x2400 disappeared after watching monitor

I have lenovo thinkpad p16 gen 2 with 3840x2400 default resolution . The laptop worked fine until I plugged into a ULTRAWIDE monitor which required a change in resolution to 5120x2160 Once I went back to using laptop screen the choice of 3840x2400 no longer appears .This is simply unbelievable since the option was there before I changed it . There has been no change in hardware or software , Simply another case of windows 11 creating problems that did not exist prior .How could an option that was in fact present simply dissappear ?iTS DIFFICULT TO READ THE SCREEN NOW !!!

Monitor resolution

The correct resolution for my monitor suddenly disappeared from the list of choices in device settings and Windows now insists that it use an incorrect resolution making everything appear stretched out. Windows insists that the most up-to-date drivers
are installed and will not allow any updates. How can I get the correct resolution back?

What exactly happens when you try to change the screen resolution? Do you get any error message?



The recommended resolution on windows 10 is 1920 x 1080. Change the resolution to 1920 x 1080 and check.

The reason why your display was stretched sideways is because the resolution was in-corrected.



Here are the steps to change the screen resolution:

• Right Click the Desktop and select
  Screen Resolution.
• Click the Make text and other items larger or smaller link.
• In the Change only the text size section click the
  drop down menu to select the items you want to change.
