Windows 10: Default "Sort By" explorer option keeps getting ignored

I used to have this issue last year and it was gone after resetting my computer. Somehow, my problem is back. Thankfully, it's only on a few different folders and not all of them.Basically, I'm used to having certain folder sosrted by "last modified" to find recent files faster than by alphabetical order. But now, since a few days ago, it seems like it keeps on sorting certain and only certain folders alphabetically instead of by last modified.Each time i want to sort it by last modified I have to do it manually, and select it from the list "Other...".But it doesn't last. click on settings

look under Source
if you have multiple folders with images in each add the folder to the list

I have 2 folders in mine
the one from onedrive auto sorts by date and groups them together
if I had more folders id add them to my list
yes all images are shown within the app

File sorting option to ignore articles?

I am looking for a way to make windows explorer ignore articles (a, an, and the) when alphabetically sorting file names. I run a media server and it would be extremely helpful if I didn't have to rename thousands of file names. I think an option like this
would be pretty easy to sneak into folder and search options (please Microsoft?). Does anybody know of a way to make this happen?

I tried the method that was complicated (3rd option) but fell over in second step as I could not find any "apply to folder button"'.

However, the simple put *.* in search bar, then sort results windows by date does the trick. It is slightly cumbersome as I have to do that each time I am selecting files (to upload to sharepoint) but a lot less hassle than I was having to scroll up and down between sorted file block and sorted folder block.
