Windows 10: defaultuser10000x.[computername] duplicated over 700 times!

I was assisting a user with Windows 11 Home who was having an issue logging in to his user account. Upon checking the user's folder I found 712 instances of the naming convention above. The info I found referred to a folder created on an update that would occasionally be there, and most references stated it was a folder with 0 bytes. In this instance, it was 70GB worth of data and there were several days when multiple folders were created. I'm assuming an issue with one of the user profiles may be the issue but I would appreciate any other insight from someone who has seen this scenario before

Windows Live Mail duplicate contacts

Hi Bruce,

I understand that there are duplicate contacts in Windows Live Mail and I will be happy to answer your query.

I suggest you to follow the steps below to do a cleanup of contacts that are duplicated.

• Open your Live Mail.
• Click Contacts on the lower left corner of your page.
• Click Clean up contacts on the Home Tab before your name, this will lead you to connect on your web page account.
• Click Save.

Alternate way to clean the duplicates.

• Sign in to
  http://people.live.com.
• Click Manage towards the top.
• Click Clean up contacts.
• Click Save and continue button.

Auto Duplicate file X Times ?

Is there a way to make it work without any need of the CMD ?

Example I have a .bat file i got somewhere on the Internet: it creates a List names of the files for the folder its in ;
into a .Text file; Pressing it once.




dir /b >copylist.txt /b /o



I just drop that .bat into the folder and press it .
it does make two unnecessary entries into that list i have to delete every time:
It lists "copylist" as part of the list along with the name the bat itself bears .

But I wish it was that easy. Drop it into the folder of the file needing duplicated, run it, a dialog pops up asked the number of files to be made, done.

Or like set the number to be duplicated in the Bat file itself.

Or drop the file to be duplicated directly onto the bat.
No clue what im saying but so far a bit too complicated for this . I still have alot to learn ..

 

Log in with username@computername instead of computername\username

Hi all

On a small network that does not have a domain controller, a Windows 10 pro workstation is sharing a folder over the network.

We used to be able to connect to this network share with username@computername instead of computername\username (e.g. shareuser@pc20 instead of pc20\shareuser).

After this Windows 10 Pro workstation updated to 1903, we cannot connect using the username@computername method
but can connect using the computername\username method.

Does anyone know if there is a reason for this?

Is there a way to re-enable this way of connecting to the share?
