Hi!Does Microsoft Defender work on a device level or user account level? If I have a computer with 3 user accounts associated with 3 separate email addresses, and only the administrator account has Defender, will Defender also protect the 2 other accounts on the same computer? Thanks!

    :)

    Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:
    1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
    2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

  3. No windows defender icon in the notification(system try) area.

We appreciate your response. To further isolate this issue, we suggest that you create a test user profile. Using the test user profile, check if Windows Defender is still not listed under Select which icons appear on the taskbar option. This is for us to
verify if the issue is isolated with one user profile or with multiple accounts.

To create a test user profile, follow these steps:

    • Using Cortana search, type Settings and then hit the Enter key.
    • In the Settings window, select Accounts.
    • Select Family & other people.
    • Click Add someone else to this PC.
    • Click I don't have this person's sign-in information.
    • Click Add a user without a Microsoft account.
    • Name the user as TEST and then provide a password.

Hope to hear from you soon.
